Kentucky is well known for a few things: the Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Bourbon and of course Kentucky Fried Chicken. However, the nine districts that make up this state also offer a range of activities and events unknown to many – including being home to the longest cave system in the world, Mammoth Cave. Visit the Muhammad Ali Centre in Louisville, take a drive along the Bourbon Trail, sample down-home country cooking at Bourbon Cooking Schools or take a tour of the National Corvette Museum, the largest and most comprehensive non-profit museum ever dedicated to America's premier sports car.
With Lexington being the 'Horse Capital of the World' and offering 450 Thoroughbred, working horse farms in the area, horse lovers can easily find a destination full of things to do. Horse-riding trails are also available including woodland trails with accommodation nearby, guided trails on horseback or wagon and riding lessons on bluegrass farmland. The Kentucky Horse Park, an international equestrian competition venue and a working horse farm, is an educational theme park that also offers visitors a chance to get close to horses through horse-riding lessons, pony rides, and live horse shows throughout the Summer.
