Founded in 2010, ANGEL’S ENVY was among the first American whiskey producers to employ secondary finishing across its portfolio. The 5% of spirit lost each year during barrel aging is called the “Angel’s Share,” and after tasting the finished whiskey, founding Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson joked that he’d finally gotten a better deal than the angels. With that, Angel’s Envy was born. Angel’s Envy continues to explore new ways to innovate and push boundaries but always starts with finely crafted whiskey aged in new, toasted and charred oak barrels. It is then placed into secondary “finishing” casks to add complexity and maintain a nuanced, yet approachable flavour profile.

In 2016, Angel’s Envy opened the first full production whiskey distillery along historic Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville. Today, the team continues to craft its award-winning whiskeys at 500 E. Main Street and welcomes over 200,000 guests a year to see how Angel’s Envy is made, then taste why these ultra premium whiskies are worth the envy.

Elijah Craig is credited as the first distiller to age his whiskey in charred oak barrels, earning his place in history as the 'Father of Bourbon.' The charred barrel transformed the clear liquid inside into an intense amber whiskey made rich with the flavours of the wood which we now recognise as Bourbon.

Today, we honour Elijah Craig’s innovative spirit with our award-winning American Whiskey expressions. From our award-winning Small Batch Bourbons to our Straight Rye Whiskey, our Master Distillers remain committed to honouring Elijah's innovative spirit.

Elijah Craig supports the hospitality community through Elijah Craig Old Fashioned Week, taking place this year from October 10–19. To date, we have provided donations of over half a million dollars to organisations supporting the hospitality industry.

The art of making fine bourbon first took place on the site of the Woodford Reserve Distillery, a National Historic Landmark, in 1812. The present day Woodford Reserve Distillery is built on history. Often cited as the birthplace of bourbon, it was here in 1838 that Dr James Crow perfected the “Sour Mash” process that is still used in bourbon production today, adding to the distillery’s historical value. In fact, in 1995, the distillery was officially recognised by the US Government and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, culminating in its recognition as a National Historic Landmark in 2000.

Woodford Reserve is built around flavour. The perfectly balanced taste of Woodford's Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey comprises of more than 200 detectable flavour notes, from bold grain and wood, to sweet aromatics, spice, fruit & floral notes. Try for yourself a true Spectacle for the Senses.
